Kislev 5784
Chasidism alters reality and reveals the essence of things. The essence of a Jew is impossible to measure or assess, as THEY are a part of the Essence (the Almighty), and "clinging to a part [of the essence] is like clinging to [it] all." And since the Essence has no size, so the part [of it] has no size.

New events of the month
Shabbaton in Yaremche by "Stars Ukraine" in honor of the 19th of Kislev.
Our STARS students attended the all-Ukrainian winter seminar in Yaremche, where participants from 10 cities across Ukraine joined us. The main theme was the new year of Chassidism, as the seminar coincided with this date. Participants delved into the study of the Taniya, learned about the personality of the Alter Rebbe, and explored the history of his imprisonment. As part of the entertainment program, we had daily evening events, excursions, and quizzes.
Hanukkah Shabbaton for participants of the Stars program in Dnipro
We decided to start the Hanukkah celebration all together with our students at Menorah. For the first three days of Hanukkah, we gathered at Menorah, listened to lessons about the holiday, visited families within our community for meals, and most importantly, lit the first and second candles together.
Over 20 boys and girls participated in the Shabbaton, and we were joined by guests from other cities in Ukraine. Additionally, STARS program participants attended lessons dedicated to the holiday throughout the week. Every day, they sent photos of their lit Hanukkiah at home, marked that they didn't miss a single communal lighting, and even won prizes in the lottery four times!
The Hanukkah program for the students of Jewish Lyceum 144
The celebration took place at the Menorah Center and began with a multitude of fun masterclasses—doughnut decorating, themed photo sessions, bracelet-making for younger students, and for the older ones, the opportunity to paint eco-bags with fluorescent colors. During this time, parents attended a lesson by Daniela Lestengurt on the 8th floor. The candle lighting ceremony for all attendees was led by the Chief Rabbi of Dnipro and the region, Shmuel Kaminetsky.

After the masterclasses, the children entered a magical city of lights. However, they faced a problem—the city had turned completely gray, losing all its vibrant colors and light. So, everyone transformed into builders, and through hard work and completing tasks, the city lit up with bright lights, with each house acquiring its unique design! To wrap it all up, there was a festive lottery because good work is traditionally rewarded generously!
Hanukkah Sunday Gathering for Kids
This month, the Sunday gathering coincided with the 4th day of Hanukkah, so we decided to celebrate this day in style with our kids. The children attended a lesson about the holiday, made delicious gingerbread cookies in the masterclass, and during the "madrich time" with counselors, they thoroughly prepared for the event. Towards the end of the gathering, we invited parents to join the kids and participate in a family Hanukkah quiz. All participants and their parents enthusiastically answered questions, laughed, took pictures, and at the end, the kids took part in our traditional lottery.

Over 20 boys and girls joined us for this gathering.
Hanukkah Party for Teens
On the 4th day of Hanukkah, we gathered our teenagers for a vibrant Hanukkah party. Participants spun the dreidel, took part in a creative task to create Hanukkah videos, answered questions in the Hanukkah quiz, and, of course, witnessed the lighting of the 4th candle. In the end, they received gifts in a festive lottery, and the most active teen received their reward—a Hanukkah gelt!
Our regular events
Weekly STARS lessons
STARS Basis
Two hours of classes every week with our leading teachers. We consistently have around 15 students who are just beginning their journey in the study of Torah and commandments. In a month, we cover a total of 8 hours of classes.
STARS Intensive
Eight hours of classes per week for advanced students in Judaism, both boys and girls. Approximately 20 students join us weekly for intensive study of Jewish laws. In a month, we cover a total of 32 hours of classes.
Farbrengens for men
Every week, we organize farbrengens on Thursdays for men. These gatherings are filled with a pleasant atmosphere and resonate with words from the Torah and melodies. Around 10 guys join us each time. In the month of Kislev, we've already had 4 farbrengens.
Farbrengens for women
On important Jewish dates, we organize farbrengens for our female students. During these gatherings, they not only enjoy delicious and kosher food but also learn something new for themselves, and perhaps even take on a new commitment. Around 15 girls join us each time. In the month of Kislev, we've already had 2 farbrengens.
Pragrams for kids
"KIDS" programs
Every Sunday, we organize gatherings for Jewish children aged 6 to 12. Participants listen to Torah lessons, create beautiful crafts in masterclasses, and engage in educational games with mentors. We consistently have around 20 children joining us every Sunday.
Workshops
On our floor, there is a studio for developmental workshops. We offer classes in chess, gymnastics, drawing, beadwork, and wood modeling.
"TEENS" programs
It's wonderful that your teen programs focus on developing leadership qualities and acquiring valuable skills. In the two-hour sessions, kids listen to a lesson on the weekly chapter, engage in interesting crafts, or participate in cool events tied to the theme of the meeting. It's great to have around 10 teenagers consistently joining you every Sunday.
Project "Shabbat Together"
Thanks to the full support of the Dnipro Jewish community, our students have the opportunity to fully observe Shabbat every week. Menorah provides us with comfortable rooms at the "7days" hotel, and many families in our community gladly invite us to their homes for meals. On Saturdays, all students make sure to attend prayers and Torah readings at the synagogue, and then join the meal at Menorah. In Kislev, we spent 4 Shabbats together and one Shabbaton for Hanukkah, with about 100 students joining us.
